El Dorado County information |
|
|
|
El
Dorado County boasts thousands of acres of desolation
wilderness. This area is a wonderland of spectacular
alpine forests, jagged granite peaks and clear
mountain lakes. More than 50 miles of hiking trails
crisscross the area and camping is allowed off
the trails. Hikers and campers can enter the area
from any number of surrounding locations, including
Emerald Bay State Park, Echo Lake, Fallen Leaf
Lake and Meeks Bay. |

Fishing and Boating |
|
|
|
El
Dorado County has many lakes, streams and rivers
to fish, boat or simply to enjoy. Jenkinson Lake
is approximately 4 miles from Pony Express Trail
on Sly Park Rd. Many lakes and rivers are planted
with rainbow trout yearly. For fishing enthusiasts
eager to catch a wild German Brown, try Gerle
Creek. For local fishing reports and fishing tips,
visit Ken's
Custom Tackle. |
